1947 wins again. For a second I thought there was even northern lights in the background and then I did a double take because it looks like the guy on the camel is pointing at it.

Wow I always wondered why there are so few brick houses in Victoria perhaps there are quite a few that have been modernized.

I wonder of that is imitation brick? There doesn't seem to be enough support over the window and doors to to carry brickwork.

I wonder of that is imitation brick? There doesn't seem to be enough support over the window and doors to to carry brickwork.It seems it was popular in that era to use asphalt shingle-type wrapping with fake brick imprinting. You still see it on old houses that haven't been renovated in years.
I'm certain a brilliantly lit display facing the Pacific Ocean would have been forbidden by law two years earlier!
