Default Green Leaf Bistro | Victoria | 1600-block of Douglas St.

Theres a new vietnamese restaurant accross the street from the old Moores store at 1684 Douglas, between Sod Sai Thai and Second Slice Pizza.
I'm not 100% on the name, will double check on my lunch break.

I'm going to go check this place out at 12 today. I work just down the street and my wife across the street. Could save us the walk to pho'hoa if it's cheap and decent!

Was good! Reasonable prices, ridiculous portions (I'm sharing something next time *burp*). Friendly staff, decent decor, it's all good from what I saw and I've been to most Vietnamese places in town. My only complaint is that they over-charred the meat, which apparently is a "Vietnamese thing". I like my meat a bit charred, but the little bowl I was dipping my meat into ended up looking like an old BBQ when I was done and all my noodles and salad tasted like charcoal.

They don't have a lunch menu/specials yet but say they are working on it. I might hold off on this place till they do as my wallet and tummy can't quite justify a full dinner for lunch. Lot of office workers in on their breaks in there, so there's good potential there.

Maybe this thread could be moved to restaurants, it's really more of a restaurant than a cafe/take-out place.

Went there today. Had Pho, pretty darn good, tasted homemade.

The person I went with has gone 6 or 7 times since it opened (last week). Definitely will be back.

Mrs. West tried it tonight and was very impressed. The food was great and reasonably priced. The place was very busy and the staff were overworked as a result of the recent favourable review in the TC last week. Recommended.

I had some spicy soup consisting of chewy bamboo leaves, or something similar, that was inedible.

They were mostly likely lime leaves. Not to be eaten for sure, but to impart flavour and aroma.
