Does anyone remember the little grocery store on Broad Street between Yates and Johnson? I used to rummage through their isles when I was a kid. I think the place closed down in the mid 1990's. I recall that it was a family run operation with three generations all taking on various duties. It was located in the London Flats building.

"G" Family grocery. Father, son, mother. None moved too fast. Dad was the quickest, and was a nice enough guy. Somehow they struck me as being Jewish, but I'm not sure why (since religion doesn't express itself in physical traits, and it's not like they wore yarmulkes).

That's it! For whatever reason this place floated back into memory last night and I wondered for a while whether I was mixing up locales or whether the place had actually existed. I spent a lot of my mum's money at that place as a kid. It was always a toss-up between heading into Chinatown or to G Family
