Self-serve sandwich bar? | |
I was thinking, would you be allowed to open a self-serve sandwich bar? Our Place has one. It seems silly to walk down the counter at Subway telling the guy what you want as he hits each condiment thing. And at the ball-game, you get the hot-dog then go add the stuff. So why not a sandwich bar? Maybe you buy the bread at the till, and get the costly stuff by the slice at the till, like meat, but then hit the line and add the stuff like butter, lettuce, onions, tomatoes etc.? I mean, at a salad bar you pick your way through stuff, same as any buffet really. So why not a sandwich place like Glenn's here in town (do we still have those?) but a do-it-yourself? Damn it, why doesn't Bonanza just come back? When they left, they said they were coming back!
