I'm coming to your house and drinking all your beer. I feel like those poor saps in 1980 that panicked and locked in their mortgages at 19%.

I swear those car washes are purely for removing dust.

I saw that. At first I thought there was a crash, then I saw the price.

The bottles are full of gas, after I converted the brewery to a refinery.

Unleaded petrol in the UK is now averaging £1.40 a litre thats $2.18 Canadian per litre thats $8.25 per US gallon! In Victoria we are paying approx $1.30 per litre and in Hawaii last week it was $4.30 per gallon....so gas is double in the UK!

That tracks with my memory of the price back in the early 1990s, about twice the BC prices. Over in Germany they are paying a bit less, about $2.10 a liter

Today Gas prices range from 120.9 at the station across from the RCMP in Colwood, to 122.9 at the super store in Langford with a coupon for 3.5 Cents per litre to use in store.

Price in town 131.9 to 133.9

It was $1.16 yesterday in Grande Prairie......but that where they find that stuff nearby isn't it?

I just learned yesterday that there has been a lot of "shale gas" extraction in that area for the past 25 years or so. My friend that was explaining it to me said that it wasn't a particularly green process to extract shale gas.

I need to learn more.

I filled up for 1.339 today. Fuel gauge said 0 km to empty but when I filled it to the brim I still had 5.2 liters in the tank. Had I known I would've driven out to Costco and filled up at the cheapest station in Langford.

They are probably referring to "Fracking" (Hydraulic Fracturing) from what I have read I would not want it it happening near my water system.

I wonder if that is because the boycott against Petrocan and Esso that was supposed to start May 1 might be having an effect?

It' still on for as long as it takes. The theory is that these two retailers are the largest in Canada and this will force them lower their price and others will follow.

Seb, don't you have friends that send you all these wierd emails that we are supposed to forward to 15 friends within 15 minutes or you will end up nuttier than a squirrel's droppings?

I've never heard of the boycott, and I have news shipped directly into my brain by a new PostMedia service. Of course, they might be on the oil companies' payroll.

I have noticed Petro Can usually has the high price during any battle.

There's that one Esso in James Bay which historically has .09 or 1 cent below the going price. And then Petro Can on Fairfield across the street from Fairfield Plaza seems to do the same thing -- at least I seem to recall that was their modus operandi for many years.

Since the gas war began Holden's right, Petrocan tries to keep its prices as high as possible for as long as possible.

Anyone know what is up with the Fas Gas on Pat Bay Hwy, the one right across the street from the Petro Can? It is just north of Elk Lake. I never see the Fas Gas drop their prices and are constantly 10 cents expensive or more than the petro Can right across the street. The Fas Gas pumps are often empty.

Fas Gas is a small gas chain based in Alberta. Before becoming Fas Gas the station was a Shell.

I guess I wonder why they aren't dropping their prices to compete with their next door neighbour. Too small of a franchise, perhaps?

The gas price fluctuations seem to be done...for now.

This chart show the last month, with the past two weeks barely changing.
