Which Sitka, though, the coffee shop or the clothing store, or both? God only knows why they entered the coffee business in the first place.

They were in their lower Yates space for many years and from what I had heard ran a decent business. Then they moved up the street for some oddball reason.

Ok, I just checked and Sitka isn't going anywhere.

Maybe I'm confused with their old store, where was that?

I'm not the (ocean) surfing type. In fact every time I swim in the open ocean or lakes, I feel my sternum is exposed. It's a strange phobia. Don't get me wrong, I still do it, I'm a strong swimmer, but I feel that bone group exposed, like it's gonna get sticked like that Australian guy that got it from the narhwal type fish. Crikey!

What's this thread about again?

Just down the street from the new store.

[quote=zinkerled;194655]The reason that block of Yates will never be great is that the entire south side of the block has no retail. There's the side of a government building at the corner of Government for god knows what reason, a parkade, and four bars/restaurants.quote]

You would think the parkade and bar and restaurant traffic would help sustain customers for the spaces in that area? I am surprised how new vacancies seem to be creeping up Yates and towards MEC? There seemed to be a lot of traffic around that area. Any one heard about possible new tenants planned in the area?

I think most of us could tell that Nood wasn't going to last long anyways. That accounts for the largest vacancy on lower Yates.

I think everyone forgets how empty everything was before the rehab of that block...

I prefer LoYa or SoGo as my shopping destination.

Took a good look inside the new Rexall across from Sticky Wicket today. Holy Moly, I was the only one in there at 1:15pm, and it's a pretty big place.

They may need to do some marketing to get people into that store.

I never understood why Rexall opened a store in this location considering a pharmacy at the conference centre shuttered up soon after it opened. Shoppers is much more centrally located and London Drugs on Yates is as much a regional draw as it is a local draw.

At least a Di Castri building was remediated

Just think how much better it would have been if the "tower" proposal for this site had been approved. Heck, it might even have meant there were customers for the Rexall store.

I much prefer the Rexall to the Shoppers up the street. Night and day.

The old Rexall on Fort was never really that busy. Maybe they have a base that works for them.

Nordstrom is coming to Canada, including the biggest store, that will be in Vancouver in fall 2014.

230,000 sq. ft. in Pacific Centre.

Default West Coast Tire Sooke Rd Toillet Paper

I was there today getting some tire work done.
New building is nice but what really impressed me and caused me to write here is the quality of the toilet paper they supply in the restroom.

It is the best toilet paper of ANY retail establishment in BC

None of that see-through 1 ply stuff this is high end and soft like cotton.
Thank you West Coast tire.

If anyone is out that way and needs to use a comfort cot try them out you`ll see what I mean.

Oh and I got a good deal as usual on the work they did for me.

Good toilet paper is key to a comfortable wipe. Any time I did the TP run for the shops I worked at I always got the good stuff.

As for West Coast Tire, I got good service there a couple of times, but sadly Kal Tire has the exclusivity deal for the tires I use. Good warranty though.

It seems that at least two Pharmasaves - Tuscany Village & Cook Street Village - have ended their affiliation with the parent corporation and have rebranded as Pure. Mrs. Fugger for one has not been impressed with the change. The selection has shrunk considerably and as they are no longer affiliated with Pharmasave, do not have access to the cheaper-yet-equally-effective generics OTC brand medications. I'd be interested to know what prompted the change.

I also had heard that Jubilee went through an ownership change recently.

Jordans buys vacant Now site
Furniture retailer will open early in new year: CEO

By Carla Wilson, Times Colonist
More: Jordans buys vacant Now site

Well, that's good news I guess. 12 year old building that's only ever been used 4 years. I don't think I've EVER been inside Jordan's. Any location.

I'm trying to think where I've always bought furniture... Dodd's for sure, United Warehouse... Brick maybe.

I'm going to see the guy that runs OnlyHuman today, that looks pretty high end. I'll write a review later, don't think it's ever been mentioned on this forum.
