Mike, I admit you are right, but I was more directing my comment to this one, that only certain people are annoyed with the commentary coming from PulpVictor. So, yes naming rights are open. But do we have to keep beating the same horse?

Is it to much to ask that if he hates that name that much he take it up with League? To pages of negativity are turning me off this thread. Opinion has been stated, could we please move on?

More people in here have been insulting and negative toward me, with no real reason to be, other than I bring forward another side for consideration. Thanks Mike. I have recorded the entire thread going back 5 years.
All I'm asking is for you to be less abrasive to the individuals whom you engage here and perhaps then you will receive the consideration and respect that you desire.

I think the naming debate has run its course. To go from Colwood City Centre to Capital City Centre turned a lot of heads and the proponents brought this onto themselves particularly before a forum full of people well aware of real-estate marketing and various gimmicks that coincide with this industry.

Where this thread derailed on so many occasions in the past is with debates over unsubstantiated rumours, fear-mongering and outright trolling. With the name of the project being somewhat contentious it's normal some people will want to debate it. And until real construction begins this latest debate adds food for thought.

Hang in there, though. Once construction really ramps up I think the dust will settle and we'll collectively focus on tangible aspects of the project.

Hey it all could just be that developers end up knowing a lot more politics then we do when they deal with the process and all. Who knows, could this be the scent of amalgamation?

Sure, but that's good, right? Getting people talking?

Anyway, the names of projects have always been fair game for discussion/criticism here. Why shouldn't they be? Corazon, Save-On Foods Centre, Parc Residences, Aria, Juliet, Chelsea, The Well/Radius, Dockside Green & Gateway Green, the Sovereign, Pavo/Duet... we've talked about them all.

Sure is. If it wasn't for VV Duet would still be called Turkey (in Spanish )

Actually I have posted a lot on several threads, but anyways...
If you have read any of them in this particular thread I have never once posted anything negative about the project. I, like many, laughed at the choice of names the owners chose to brand this exciting development. I, like most, have moved on...

Back your statement up before shooting your mouth off.

This is a pretty bold and interesting development for the area, but I really do think the name is quite ridiculous. They could have picked so many other good names that better reflected the location and didn't feel slightly misleading. Too late to change it now most likely though so oh well. But if a stupid name is the worst thing one can say about a project then it's not bad!

Accuracy is clearly not a priority for Pulp.

My sincere apologies. I assumed, and made an ass of myself.

I swung by the jobsite today and grabbed a couple of pics. This site is MASSIVE.

The sales office looked very classy.

It was NOT ME who brought up the issue of the name. Please. I get in enough trouble in here without also being attributed to things that I didn't start.

{sigh}... My comment never attributed to you as starting the conversation about the name. My comment was about the two pages of "beating a dead horse". {moving on}

OK, now that we have finished that, let's stick with the topic of this thread.

I heard somewhere (don't remember where or from whom) that in order to get construction financing on condo development, you have to have 35% pre-sold. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

It varies. Some projects need a certain pre-sale amount, others don't. There's no definitive pre-sale percentage for a project to move forward.

Kelowna's "Skye" condo tower is a nice looking building. Maybe this bodes well.

Mike and I attended the media event yesterday that celebrated the opening of the sales centre. Check out this simulated view which was backlit with a panoramic photo.

Very well done.
