How long has that been bothering you?

If Mike H had of taken out a building permit....there would have been a railing.

I am all for putting this province into receivership (which it is) and let the accountants run it for a while.
I'd be up for that. No more $500-million roofs for stadia or selling off public assets to the lowest bidder.

Which assets to the lowest bidder do you mean?

That's tongue in cheek, of course, but the ridiculously cheap sell-off of the Fastcats and the $1-million BC Rail sale come immediately to mind. Yes, I realize BC Rail was a money loser, but we could have done far better than what we got and the Basi-Virk trial wouldn't be costing tax payers untold monies for years of legal wrangling.

Now we're faced with a sell-off of BC Liquor stores, the Liberals privatized hospital housekeeping and food services much to the disapproval of hospital staff (housekeeping) and patients (food), and it won't be long before ICBC is no more and BC Hydro is sold off.

It wasn't? I thought it cost more to operate the line than the revenue it generated?

Ah, crap, well there you go then.

And if memory serves right the Liberals told BC voters they wouldn't touch the rail line. A few years in and it was in private hands. Same story with the HST. Lie to voters during the election, roll on out with the HST after the election.

They technically didn't lie, as they didn't sell BC Rail, they just "leased" it... for 999 years.

David McLean was the person that not only propelled Gordon Campbell to premier and financially supported the Liberal party.....he also happened to be the chairman of CN Rail.

The successful bidder for BC Rail.

Amazing stuff.

And you're right, fox, they only "leased it" for a millennium. Crooks.

Unfortunately you are not right about the liquor stores being privatized. It is only the Liquor Distribution Branch that's being privatized. The stores will still be run by the government. As for ICBC I wish it would be dismantled before they get booted out in May 2013, we're getting completely hosed on insurance rates.

Anyone claiming the NDP of today are not at all like the NDP of the past should read up on their leader's past.

I will give you 3 guesses as to which person will end up with the liquor distribution rights.

Guess away.

Patrick Kinsella, someone with a pre-existing relationship to Kinsella, someone with a pre-existing relationship to Christy Clark.

What do I win?!

^ You win the smartypants of the year award. Nicely done actually. Patrick Kinsella was also famous for being on the board of directors for BC Rail.......and nobody knew what he did...

Guess what other board he served on?

BC Rail was a huge money pit for the government for decades. The forgave the debt a couple of times and still it sunk down. Billions went into that company.

Also, it was run as if customers were a problem to be avoided.

EXCLUSIVE: During RCMP Surveillance of Dave Basi, Deputy Premier Christy Clark Was in the Cross-Hairs of the RCMP’s Special ‘O’–TWICE! How Does This Square With the Crown’s Dissent and Premier Christy Clark’s Denials?

What you are about to read is an eye witness account from a confidential source inside the RCMP’s troubled Special ‘O’ unit. The source, who recently approached this writer, is a decades-long law enforcement ‘employee’. All the facts as presented have been verified as true with other officials close to the investigation. They are supported by evidence which I will show you at the end of this post. I cannot, for legal reasons, show you the specific related documents–yet, as I am working to publish the details without possibly revealing the source. Unlike with the dozens of law enforcement officials, who would have access to previous information I have released, this information was available to very few people, but enough that I am not immediately compromising the source.
The following information could have ONLY come from someone with intel deep inside the RCMP.

We have some of the lowest rates in North America. Where are you getting the notion that we're being duped?

We've got it pretty good as far as ICBC goes.

We pay twice what Albertans pay. It's only the lowest in the country according to ICBC supporters.
